Helen Christian, mrcvs

Dr. Helen Christian was born and raised in Wokingham, England, where she participated in equine activities all through her youth with a particular interest in Show Jumping and One Day Eventing. Dr. Christian attended veterinary school at the Royal Veterinary College, University of London, graduating in July 2005. Following graduation, Dr. Christian visited a number of Equine Clinics throughout the U.S. before participating in the six month Neonatal Internship Program at Marion duPont Scott Equine Medical Center in Leesburg, VA, specializing in the intensive care of foals. In 2006, Dr. Christian joined Pacific Crest Equine in our year long internship program, and remained at our hospital after the completion of this program as an associate practitioner. One of Dr. Christian’s interests is travel and in late 2007 Dr. Christian took a six month sabbatical, in which she traveled to New Zealand working as an equine veterinarian in Kumeu, Auckland. While in New Zealand, Dr. Christian focused on general equine ambulatory practice as well as reproductive work within the Standardbred racing industry. Since her return to California, Dr. Christian continues to work in all aspects of equine practice with a particular interest in internal medicine and intensive care. Dr. Christian took some time out this year to welcome the arrival of her son, Liam Alexander, born in April 2010.
