Trailering Horses
For horses traveling a long distance, provide short stops to let the horses out of the trailer to stretch. It is important that horses who have their necks tied up are allowed time to eat and drink with their heads down. This will also enable the horse to clear its respiratory tract and minimize the chances of contacting a respiratory disease. If you are traveling also remember to have a current rabies and interstate health certificate. We also recommend that some horses be boostered for certain vaccinations depending on your destination.
